All our 12s/14s/16s/18s teams are determined in November
(the regular season runs from mid December through June). We will be scheduling
our first tryout sessions to start on Sunday
11/6 through Wednesday 11/16 and continue on, if needed through November, in Los Altos. You need to sign up
ahead of time for an assigned session. You only need attend one tryout session.
We are not
necessarily looking for the best all-out talent but a variety of factors such
as athletic experience, geographic location, references from other sources,
commitment and responsibility, etc. In other words, our best overall judgment
as to a balanced team with a successful season, great experience and
development, improvement, and anticipation of any future school team tryouts
and balanced with competing. A serious commitment to be on time and
at all practices and tournaments is expected.
One other note: We do not invite
any players to be on a team during the actual tryout sessions. Unfortunately,
we always have many more girls interested than we can accommodate. So, it
usually takes a few days to sort out all the information and we do not want to
pressure anyone into joining on the spot. Apparently some clubs have asked
players and parents to decide at the tryout and have indicated that the girl
will loose her spot on the team if she does not sign up immediately. We do not
do this and feel that you should be able to check out reasonable options. The
NCVA is continuing this season the same as last year with the ‘signing date rule’ that says ‘a junior
player may not make a binding commitment to a team or club before the first
NCVA-sanctioned signing date/time, which is Monday, November 14th at 6 PM and not until 48 hours after the actual
tryout attended.’ Any verbal commitment made prior to November 14th
at 6PM or before 48 hours from the actual tryout attended is non-binding.’

2012 TRYOUT

We have completed the regularly scheduled tryouts for all
age levels and continue to set up additional tryouts where needed. A very big
"thank you" to all who attended! We have very much enjoyed all the
players we have seen and we hope it has been as much fun for all of you as it
has for us! You were a wonderful mix of players. We had a good turnout and a
lot of great volleyball.
We are very happy that we now
have a wonderful set of players on our 12s, 14s, and 16s and are proceeding
with each team’s registration. We do still have
a couple of opportunities for spots on these
teams available. We will be holding a few more specific ad hoc tryouts as we
may be able accommodate more players. Please call us at the number above and
let us know that you are interested and to receive the latest information.

Tryout Process:
1)
Call and be sure to include a phone number where you can be
reached.
2)
Receive an email or callback confirmation.
3)
Show up at confirmed session at the start time. Please
do not show up early.
4)
At least one parent or guardian must attend the beginning
of a session to hear the introductory presentation.
5)
Gym shoes (no hard soles please), kneepads, water bottles (absolutely
no food or other beverages are allowed in the gym), and a smile,
thanks!
6)
The signup form (Player Information Form*) can be printed from the link
above. *Note: “AGE ON
8/31/10” should be “AGE ON 8/31/11”
7)
Bring the filled out and signed Player Information
Form and the Tryout Fee: cash or a check made out to “aurora volleyball
club” for $30.

The second step, if you have not already done so, is for you
to register with the NCVA as a member with aurora volleyball club by registering online. Below is the detailed instruction
sheet you will need to print out and follow closely to register with the
NCVA. Some of you may have already received an email regarding ncva
online registration and have registered and some of you may need to do this
now. However, everyone should review the information provided at the

ncva player registration instructions” This includes those
who have already registered and those who are now just starting to register.

following these instructions, if you realize you need to fix an entry on a
previous page do not go backwards. Complete the registration process
